Unit accompanied the first session of Victim Participation Board in Puerto Berrío (Antioquia)

The session featured the socialization of Citizen Service, Participation and Visibility of Victims, and anti-fraud campaign, among others.

In the facilities of the Municipal Council of Puerto Berrío, the first session of the Municipal Victim Participation Board was held, consisting of 16 women, with the support of the Municipal Ombudsmen as technical secretary of the same and the intervention of officials of the Victims Unit for the Victims in the Magdalena Medio.

The purpose of the Unit’s participation was to train the members of this space on Participation Protocol issues, proposals for the closing and splicing report of new governments, socialization of the entity’s service and repair routes.

During the session, the needs of the surviving population of conflict in Puerto Berrío were met, through what was stated by their representatives at the Participation Board as an interlocutor between the victims and the State.

From the Citizen Service area, the Bureau learned about the route of care, assistance and repair, and received information about the operation of the care point that addresses the needs of the victims of that municipality, and about the different channels of care with the that counts the Victims Unit.

During the meeting it was also socialized Resolution 1049 of 2019, which refers to the prioritization criteria, explaining the three routes for taking administrative compensation request, emphasizing the priority route for people over 74, people with disabilities and people with catastrophic or ruinous diseases.

On the Participation area, the participation protocol was announced, what are the rights and duties of those who integrate the boards. The need to have an internal operating regulation and a work plan containing the programs, proposals and projects that they wish to present to guarantee the participation of the municipality victims they represent was also discussed.

“These spaces enrich us greatly, as they give us guidelines to be able to have more strength and empowerment in our work as representatives of the victims in the municipality, therefore, we thank the Victims Unit for the advanced work”, said Edith Marín Vélez, coordinator of the Participation Board.
