With the aim of strengthening the productive initiatives of people and families affected by armed conflict, the company GFA Consulting Group, operator of the German cooperation agency GIZ, in the program called Caquetá and Meta Prointegration (PROINTCAME), and the Victims Unit Caquetá-Huila territorial management, will establish specialized service windows in nine municipalities of the department.
Montañita, El Paujil, El Doncello and Puerto Rico in the north; and Morelia, Belén de los Andaquíes, San José del Fragua and Albania in the southern zone will receive this benefit at the victim service points, or through the victims’ links provided by the municipal administrations.
In Florencia, this service will be provided at the Regional Victim Assistance Center (CRAV), in the downtown area of the city. The pilot test begins on November 1 and will initially extend for 12 months.
The opening of these specialized advice points is directly related to the objectives of PROINTCAME, a program that German cooperation implements in the department, in order to strengthen productive initiatives with a view to improving income, sustainability and employability of survivors of the armed conflict.
“Considering that characteristic of these initiatives has to do with the complement of the investment and the support they need to become truly sustainable, we design the concept of a one-stop-shop for the victim population, in a specialized way in the generation component of income”, said Antonio José Londoño Vélez, head of the Colombia team of the GFA.
On the other hand, Sandra Jhovana Bello, territorial director of the Victims Unit in Caquetá and Huila, affirmed that “one of the main objectives of this great alliance is to provide spaces so that the population that receives compensation through the administrative route has alternatives of placement of these resources in sustainable initiatives that significantly improve their quality of life”.
The strategy also aims to create spaces for microenterprise strengthening, skills empowerment, empowerment and devictimization of survivors of armed conflict residing in the south of country.
