In order to contribute to the adequate implementation of the public policy of victims of Calarcá, professionals from the Victims Unit intervened before the Municipal Council, to make some recommendations in the development plan, seeking to improve supply capacity and satisfaction of the rights of survivors of armed conflict in the territory.
“This is an exercise that we have been developing in different municipalities and that allows us to make some observations, after the detailed study that we have done, so that the development plans have concretely immersed the public policy of victims in their plans, programs and Projects; The document has already been filed before the municipal council and the mayor’s office and we hope that it will be really taken into account”, said Laura Moreno, territorial director of the Unit in the Coffee Region.
Similarly, Laura Moreno said that the entity highlighted that from article 8, which deals with application approaches in the development plan “Calarcá for All” and particularly in the guarantee approach based on human rights, include the victims of armed conflict, which number 5.531 people, according to data from the National Information Network of the Victims Unit.
For his part, Jhon Faber Rave Nieto, president of Calarcá Council, indicated the opening of the corporation with entities that want to contribute to the well-being of victims, and said that they will be “very pending”, monitoring the investment of resources and the development of programs that go in that direction.
The Unit recommended to the municipal Administration to distinguish the resources destined specifically for the victims of armed conflict, as well as to break down in the territorial action plan the specific investment to fulfill its competences with the population, as well as to have concrete goals that benefit the victims in housing, public services and employability programs.
