The Victims Unit will provide compensation letters to 135 elderly adults who were victims of armed conflict, who suffered forced displacement, for a value of $ 1,054 million.
According to Luz Adriana Toro Vélez, territorial director of Unit in Valle de Cauca, the first days of delivery were recorded at the victim assistance points in the municipalities of Palmira and Buga.
“In Palmira there were 29 people benefited, with letters for $ 206,391,089. While in Buga 31 older adults received this document, with which they can make effective their compensation in the Agrarian Bank. In this case, the turns total $ 267,892,803. They are resources with which it contributes to its integral reparation, “said the official.
In the next few days new letters of compensation will be submitted, this time to 75 people from Tuluá and neighboring municipalities, this repair measure corresponds to about 580,261,534 million pesos
“It is important to remind all victims and their families that the procedures with the Unit are totally free, that they should not pay for shifts or counseling. It is a call that we make with vehemence, because we do not want unscrupulous people to take advantage of victims and with lies make them give part of their compensation”, said the official.
These administrative reparation measures are prioritized for people over 74 years of age; Those who have catastrophic or orphan diseases, or those who are disabled and their difficulty in performance is equal to or greater than 40%.
In Valle del Cauca 414,169 people are victims subject to attention and / or reparation.
