At Nueva Colonia 29 de Noviembre educational institution, with the attendance of about 50 participants, an act of dignity was held to the Nueva Colonia Promotion Committee, who in turn presented the Collective Reparation Plan to the community.
The event, which was broadcast live by Urabá Noticias de Turbo media outlet, also featured the participation of Enrique Mena, representing the Turbo administration; Edwin Román, delegate from Puerto Antioquia; Idelber Samboní, from the Brush project; Patricia Duque, from FundaUniban and Elizabeth Granada Ríos, Director of this territory, under compliance with the biosafety protocols.
The central axis of the agenda was the presentation, by the members of the promotion committee, of the measures implemented and the challenges of the PIRC, aspects that were shared not only with the community present, but were also transmitted by the media of the subregion.
“In today’s activity we were able to demonstrate the work and leadership of the members of the promotion committee, but also the commitment of the entire community and the entities that participated in this activity. It is clear to us that Nueva Colonia is a land of progress, development and peace, and that this exercise is forged from the community, through a construction that requires effort, dynamism, leadership and constant participation, so that communities and institutions can articulate to make progress”, said Dora Cano of the push committee.
She, along with 25 members of the promotion committee, with a representation by villages, received recognition from the Unit, which praised the leadership and commitment of this base committee in community work, in the Collective Repair route that is started in October 2014.
The Territorial Director was in charge of delivering these awards, highlighting that “again and with great blessing we are here. This process has undoubtedly made significant progress, which would not have been possible without the availability of people who think together, as the impulse committee does. Today, more than showing the progress of collective reparation, it is the opportunity to highlight teamwork, which has allowed empowerment as a community, the achievement of deliveries and the strengthening of the social network”, said Granada.
Among the achievements presented by this group, the rehabilitation, restitution and satisfaction measures stand out, among which are the recurring deliveries of machinery to support the production and distribution of products; the tractor and the truck have become essential tools to strengthen the productive forms of the district.
The beneficiaries of Nueva Colonia are also among the first in the subregion to carry out a poultry project, with a capacity for 5,000 laying hens, a farm inaugurated in March, which has become one of its main sustenance in the pandemic.
Likewise, this community recognized the evident recovery of trust and the permanent construction of the social and community network, achieved and cemented through the psychosocial strategy Entrelazando, of the Unit for Victims.
In this socialization space, the young people who are part of the strategy for the prevention of illicit recruitment, Mambrú, of the National Reincorporation Agency (ARN) participated, articulated to the process through a communicational and cultural training strategy.
In the event, which took place in fulfillment and dignity of Nueva Colonia, the memory of those who are no longer here, but who left their mark on the inhabitants of this district, were also honored.
