107 displaced people receive attention and guidance from the Victims Unit, in Tarazá

In the municipality of Antioquia, a current census of 36 families affected by displacement is reported, due to the public order situation.

The Unit for Comprehensive Attention and Reparation for Victims guides and accompanies the 107 people who traveled from the village of La Pipiola in the municipality of Tarazá, as a result of threats by illegal armed groups in this area of ​​the subregion of Bajo Cauca Antioquia.

“The emergency assistance team of the Victims Unit makes presence in this territory in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office and the municipal Personnel, makes the declaration and reports the census for now of 36 families (107 people), which it is open in case other people arrive from that area to guarantee their access to the declaration of forced displacement and immediate humanitarian aid”, said the director of the Victims Unit in Antioquia, Wilson Córdoba Mena.

The official also said that “in the first instance the municipality acts, which by law is obliged to deal with the emergency, then the Government enters and finally the Victims Unit, delivering humanitarian aid. We remain attentive to the requirement of the municipality to support food if necessary”, concluded the director.

The majority of displaced families are in a temporary shelter in the urban area, while in the afternoon on Wednesday, a Transitional Justice Committee will be held in which the state of municipal, departmental and national entities will be evaluated. the situation and security conditions of families and the area.

The census carried out by the municipal authority indicates that there are 41 minors, 57 adults, including a pregnant woman and two nursing mothers, and nine adults over 61 years of age.

According to the information given by the community, armed men entered their homes, threatened them with death and gave them the order to leave their homes.

During 2019, the Victim Reparation Unit attended 17 massive events in Antioquia in which 670 families were affected corresponding to 2,032 people, mostly from Bajo Cauca.

In the validity of Law 1448, the Unit for the Attention and Reparation of Victims in Antioquia has allocated 11,572 million pesos in immediate Humanitarian Aid to families who have suffered forced displacement due to the internal armed conflict.
