More opportunities to overcome to 157 victims of Pueblorrico

The survivors of conflict in this Antioquia municipality agreed to the offer of services of institutions in employment, productive projects, savings or education.

A total of 157 victims from the municipality of Pueblorrico (Antioquia) benefited from the inter-institutional services and supply fair, with which they will be able to access better opportunities that improve their quality of life and contribute to their repair.

In coordination with the local mayor’s office and other institutions, this population affected by the conflict met the offer of more than 15 public and private institutions in employment, higher education, housing, support for productive projects, loans, savings, pensions, among other services.

As one of the participating entities, the Victims Unit oriented on the procedures of the Victims Law to access inclusion in the Single Registry, assessment of subsistence minimums for humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable, documentation for economic compensation.

Jorge Mario Alzate, director of Unit in Antioquia, said that this entity is managing this alliance of entities to “bring the offer closer to the victims and generate opportunities for social and economic development, which is what this population requires for its social inclusion. “

Alzate added that “with this interinstitutional articulation it is possible to bring the offer designed to improve the quality of life of survivors of conflict according to well-proven needs such as employment and income generation, housing and education, enabling them to overcome the vulnerability caused by armed conflict”.

The fairs counted with the participation of municipal secretaries, educational institutions, the National Apprenticeship Service (SENA), the National Registry, Icetex, as well as the National Savings Fund (FNA), the family compensation funds with their employment agencies and the National Police.

Likewise, it was announced by the Agrarian Bank the offer in credits for productive projects and the program of protection to the oldness through Colpensiones. The Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) participated with the program of psychosocial care and information on the rights of children and childhood.

During this year, more than 5,000 victims of conflict have benefited in Antioquia during these inter-institutional supply fairs managed by the Unit for Reparation of Victims in about 20 Antioquia municipalities. These days continue in the coming weeks in other municipalities.
