Nohemí Agudelo, es una líder que siempre se ha caracterizado por una auténtica vocación de servicio. De mirada profunda y un discurso esperanzador, refleja armonía en todo lo que hace como se percibe en su hogar, donde cada espacio da testimonio de una vida organizada, cargada de vitalidad.
Una de sus grandes pasiones son los bordados que realzan la belleza de numerosas prendas y que exhibe en su taller de costura que Nohemí montó con la indemnización recibida de la Unidad para las Víctimas en el año 2013. Años atrás, fruto de los cursos que hizo en el Sena, también había hecho de la cocina una de sus mejores cartas de presentación, sobre todo en fechas como las fiestas sampedrinas y la Navidad, días en que le llovían los clientes solicitándole toda clase de platos especiales.
Como si no fuera suficiente, desde hace poco explora el teatro junto con un colectivo del que hace parte que es apoyado por un cooperante internacional. El pasado 9 de abril presentaron su más reciente puesta en escena y el éxito alcanzado las tiene trabajando en una propuesta más ambiciosa que pronto estarán dando a conocer ella y sus integrantes.
Su mundo actual, visto así, parece envidiable, casi perfecto, digno de una lideresa colmada de atributos; pero su pasado es conmovedor. Precisamente ha superado sus dolores ocupando mente y cuerpo en estas actividades productivas y por eso se ha convertido en referente de muchas personas víctimas de la violencia dentro y fuera del Caquetá.
Su historia
Tenía alrededor de diez años cuando llegó del Valle del Cauca a El Paujil, en el Caquetá. Las estrecheces agobiaban en un hogar donde su madre buscaba solitaria el sustento.
Al bordear los 20 años decidió casarse. Con su esposo fijaron residencia en Florencia, en la Ciudadela Siglo XXI, donde habitan sobre todo víctimas de la violencia. Hoy llevan 37 años de un matrimonio consistente que no se resquebraja ante ninguna dificultad.
Tuvieron cinco hijos, dos mujeres y tres hombres; uno de ellos se lo arrebató muy pequeño una familiar y pasaron casi 18 años para que él supiera de su verdadera madre.
Otra suerte corrió Cristian Camilo, su hijo menor, de tan solo 17 años. El lunes 28 de agosto de 2006, sobre las 11 de la mañana, salió a encontrarse con su padre en la galería Satélite, donde le ayudó a trabajar acomodando algunos mostradores; en horas de la tarde estuvo en casa y como a las cinco, cuando acostumbraba darle el visto bueno a las arepas que Nohemí ofrecía en la puerta de su casa para generar recursos extra, se le ocurrió salir con un amigo.
Habían ido a buscarlo; “mami, ya vengo, dijo” y nunca regresó. Quienes lo vieron por última vez aseguraron que se había despedido del amigo y minutos después, en una de las esquinas del populoso sector de la Ciudadela, se montó en un taxi. Desde entonces no hay noticias de él.
Un grave error se había cometido: nadie reparó en qué vehículo se habían montado. Pasadas unas horas, Nohemí denunció la desaparición sin recibir la respuesta: tenían que dejar pasar tres días para activar la búsqueda. Desde entonces no hay noticias de su paradero.
“En el barrio reclutaban muchachos, había autodefensas, Farc, la gente lo sabía; pero, del temor, no lo hablaban. Yo decía ¡no!, en ese tiempo lo matan, lo entierran y uno no se da cuenta”, narra desconsolada.
Presa de la desesperación, lo buscó tan rápido como pudo dentro y fuera del departamento. Convencida de que podía ser víctima de reclutamiento forzado acudió en vano a pedir ayuda a excombatientes de la guerrilla en Aguabonita (Caquetá) y Mesetas (Meta), donde incluso le dijeron que si se desviaba del camino podría pisar una mina antipersonal. La advertencia no la detuvo. Siguió investigando.
En esa búsqueda incansable acudió a medios de comunicación nacionales, porque en Caquetá muchos le dieron la espalda, hasta que supo de la Asociación Nacional de Secuestrados y Desaparecidos Los que Faltan, orientada entonces por el periodista y activista Herbin Hoyos, quien falleció en 2021 víctima del covid.
Tanto insistió que hizo visible el caso de su hijo. No obstante, no se conformó, sino que, pasados los años, en el marco del proceso de paz Gobierno-Farc, acudió a los primeros foros en Villavicencio y participó en la mesa de paz de Huila, Caquetá y Putumayo. “Siempre preguntaba qué pasaba con Caquetá, en Caquetá los periodistas no me dejaban hablar, entonces yo buscaba ayuda”, se queja.
“Algo está pasando con los jóvenes de Caquetá”, reclamaba mientras otras 240 familias del departamento pasaban angustias similares por la desaparición de sus seres queridos y, aun así, el mutismo era casi total ante la posibilidad de generar desgracias peores.
Asumió, por ello, la vocería. “Desaparecidos, pero no olvidados” sigue siendo su bandera, su marca; palabras que en cierto modo resumen el dolor por la pérdida de su hijo Cristian y, después, la de Wílmer Fidelio, el mayor, a quien llevó a prestar servicio en febrero de ese aciago 2006.
Estaba convencida de que el mayor se haría más responsable en el Ejército. El joven decidió seguir la carrera militar, pero, transcurridos 12 años, el 15 de diciembre de 2018, lo asesinaron.
“Fue en un asalto a un campamento de las Farc en San Vicente. Después de dos años, pienso que sus superiores le dieron mal las coordenadas, fue el único que murió”, expresa con rabia reprimida. De él conserva sus botas, entre otras piezas de invaluable valor sentimental.
No obstante, esos reveses han hecho de Nohemí una mujer admirable, resiliente, que no se aplaca ante la adversidad. Frente a la incertidumbre por el paradero de padres, hijos, hermanos y demás, recalca, “no nos quedemos callados, no podemos desfallecer”. Entre tanto, añade, es necesario “vivir con amor”, por los otros hijos y demás familiares.
“No he cerrado una hoja cuando se me abre la otra, me ha tocado aprender a vivir a golpes”, concluye para indicar que continuará luchando por la verdad, solidarizándose y luchando por las demás familias que pasan por su misma situación.
“Nuestros hijos fueron carne de cañón y esta es la fecha en que no se sabe si fueron las autodefensas, si fueron reclutados o qué pasó con ellos”, manifiesta y precisa que el caso de Cristian reposa en Ibagué. “Yo hice toda la ruta sin saber; allá está el caso de él, a ver si alguien lo reconoce. Estamos esperando que lleguen acá las audiencias de la JEP”, concluye.

Screen reader and keyboard navigation
Our website implements the ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attribute technique, along with several different behavior changes, to ensure that blind users who visit with screen readers can read, understand, and enjoy the features of the website. As soon as a user with a screen reader enters your site, they are immediately prompted to enter the screen reader profile so they can effectively navigate and operate your site. Here's how our website covers some of the most important screen reader requirements, along with console screenshots of code examples:
Screen Reader Optimization: We run a background process that learns website components from top to bottom, to ensure continued compliance even when the website is updated. In this process, we provide screen readers with meaningful data using the ARIA attribute set. For example, we provide accurate form tags; actionable icon descriptions (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guide for form inputs; roles of elements such as buttons, menus, modal dialogs (popups), and others. In addition, the background process scans all images on the website and provides an accurate and meaningful description based on Image Object Recognition as an ALT (alternative text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. To activate screen reader settings at any time, users just need to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen reader users also receive automated prompts to activate screen reader mode as soon as they enter the website.
These settings are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the HTML of the website and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website work with the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdown menus with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, activate buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio items and checkboxes using the arrow keys and complete them with the space bar or the Enter key. In addition, keyboard users will find quick navigation and content skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first site elements while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving keyboard focus to them as soon as they appear, and not allowing focus to drift away from it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as "M" (menus), "H" (headers), "F" (forms), "B" (buttons), and "G" (graphics) to jump to specific items.
Disability profiles accepted on our website
Epilepsy Safe Mode: This profile allows people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures resulting from flashing or flickering animations and risky color combinations.
Visually Impaired Mode: This mode adjusts the website for the comfort of visually impaired users such as impaired vision, tunnel vision, cataracts, glaucoma, and others.
Cognitive Impairment Mode – This mode provides different support options to help users with cognitive impairments such as dyslexia, autism, AVC, and others to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
ADHD Friendly Mode – This mode helps users with ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders to read, navigate, and focus on the main elements of the website more easily, while significantly reducing distractions.
Blind Mode – This mode configures the website to be compatible with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor Disability): This profile allows people with motor disabilities to operate the website using the Tab, Shift+Tab, and Enter keys on the keyboard. Users can also use shortcuts such as "M" (menus), "H" (headers), "F" (forms), "B" (buttons), and "G" (graphics) to jump to specific items.
Additional UI, layout, and readability tweaks
Font Settings: Users can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
Color Settings: Users can select various color contrast profiles, such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap title, text, and background color combinations, with more than 7 different color options.
Animations: Epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Interface-driven animations include videos, GIFs, and flashing CSS transitions.
Content Highlighting – Users can choose to emphasize important elements like links and titles. They can also choose to highlight only focused or suspended items.
Audio Mute: Users with hearing aids may experience headaches or other issues due to autoplay of audio. This option allows users to mute the entire website instantly.
Cognitive disorders: We use a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
Additional features: We provide users with the option to change the color and size of the cursor, use a print mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other features.
Browser and assistive technology support
Our goal is to support the widest possible range of browsers and assistive technologies, so our users can choose the tools that work best for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all the major systems that comprise more than 95 % of the user market share, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (readers). screen), for both Windows and MAC users.
