Around 1.8 million victims have been treated virtually during the health emergency

This was reiterated by Ramón Rodríguez, director of the Unit in the second session of the “Great dialogue with the victims of conflict in times of Covid-19”, held with the Putumayo Departmental Bureau of victims.

A total of 1.8 million victims have been treated virtually during the pandemic, in terms of humanitarian aid 321,000 money orders have been made and 61,000 indemnities have been paid, said Ramón Rodríguez, director of the Unit during the final day of the “Great dialogue with the victims of conflict in Covid-19 times”, with the survivors of Putumayo.

Rodríguez specified that in the processes of collective reparation it has the advantage of improving housing and that, in addition, adjustments are being made to the protocol for the participation of victims.

Lorena Mesa, deputy director of the Unit explained the extension of the Victims Law until August 2031 and noted that the Government will not propose modifications to that initiative.

For her part, the director of inter-institutional management, Aura Helena Acevedo, explained that her office supports the participation of all the victims of the different instances in the construction of the Territorial Action Plans and will be protagonists with the criteria that will be taken into account for the certifications of the entities in all the territory, soon.

In the opinion of Héctor Gabriel Camelo, director of Social and Humanitarian Management, the benefit in this matter, is only received by victims who do not have any type of help and through the characterization their lack of food and essential resources is evidenced. “We continue to identify the deficiencies that are obtained through the crossing of government administrative records, to target the victim population that truly requires it”, he said.

Likewise, Enrique Ardila, director of Repair, recalled that the Unit delivered more than 62.000 letters of compensation during Covid-19, whose payments exceed 500.000 million pesos.

Ardila specified that, in Putumayo, the Unit delivered 708 letters worth $5.7 billion. “In Returns and Relocations there is an interesting budget and progress is being made in the outline of a family scheme to identify the best income component and there are 3.500 kits of special accompaniment schemes to deliver in Putumayo”, she explained.

Likewise, it was possible to capture commitments in registration and information issues, technical evaluation criteria in a vulnerable situation, ethnic issues, social leaders, returns and relocations, prioritization of payments, rural housing and income generation, SNARIV supply map, special schemes of family accompaniment and training to the departmental table and socialization of concern s to be able to replicate information with the municipal tables.

The conference also allowed the members to raise their concerns, suggestions and proposals that were subsequently resolved and clarified by each of the Unit officials.
