“La Chinita, 25 years transforming violence into opportunities”

This was the phrase that framed and led to reflection in the conversation, “La Chinita 25 years later, January 23, 1994-2019”, which took place in the auditorium Rosalba Zapata, a space in which the Victims Unit presented a complete report through the director of this territorial Elizabeth Granada Ríos.

The event, which took place in Obrero neighborhood, was attended by about 200 people belonging to national and regional entities, such as Mayor Eliecer Arteaga Vargas, leaders of the victims’ tables, among other personalities who came to present their perception of what the Chinita collective represents in Urabá.

Ciro Abadía, president of Antioquia Victims Association, was in charge of installing the discussion, which involved entities such as the National Service of Learning (SENA), The Organization for Migration OIM, Sindicato -Sintrainagro, Silvia Berrocal representative of victims, the Democratic Culture Foundation (Fucude), Organization Mothers of Candelaria.

“Thank you for being here this is a construction space where all the entities are going to contribute and they will present what we have done and contribute to La Chinita collective reparation process, that is why we are all here, because it is good for everyone to know what is being done, “explained Ciro Abadía at the Facility.

In this same scenario, Elizabeth Granada Ríos, presented a report on the collective reparation process where, in addition to measures of satisfaction and psychosocial recovery, highlighted the materialization of important measures in infrastructure and endowments, represented in an investment of $ 385,685,023 million in cooperation with entities and organizations such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and Rosalba Zapata Corporation, the latter has contributed to the construction of Collective Repair park that was presented in this space to the community.

“In these 25 years I know that some people are in pain, but they have also taken advantage of this pain. Today we have an empowered individual, who has made himself heard at the local, national and international levels, who has taken advantage of this disastrous event to rebuild himself, give a message of forgiveness to the world, “said Elizabeth Granada Rios.

For his part, the mayor of Apartadó, Eliecer Arteaga, urged to leave the ear, to continue working for peace and build a new tomorrow.

Also, Alvaro Villarraga Sarmiento, president of Democratic Culture Foundation, made a recount of the memory of all events that took place there, which still mark the history of the country, in addition he invited to join efforts in favor of collective reparation “Thanks Victims Unit for that perspective for that effort they are making for the reparation, however, we do not have to be conformist “.
