No more lines at points of attention!

On Thursday, the ‘Online Unit’ strategy was launched throughout the national territory, which allows consultations on registration and humanitarian assistance on the Internet.

Last Thursday the Unit for Victims launched a tool with which the survivors of armed conflict will be able to find out on the Internet the status of their inclusion in the Unique Registry of Victims, to request humanitarian aid and to follow the status of these latter.

The launch was made simultaneously in the 20 territorial directorates of the Unit. In Bogotá, the presentation was given by Viviana Ferro, deputy general director, who stressed that the purpose of this new information channel is to decongest the points of attention, strengthen the approach of the entity with the victims, and improve the quality of care they receive.

In that sense, Lorena Mesa, an advisor to the Directorate, stressed before the attendees of the day at the Local Center of Attention to Victims (CLAV) of Rafael Uribe Uribe, in the south of the city, that “users will no longer have to make endless lines. “

Online Unit: your one-click queries

Guillermo Posada, one of the users who participated in the presentation of Online Unit, described the idea as “very pertinent, because it allows to decongest the points of attention”. He himself foresees a saving in his time with this tool. “It will be much easier for me to sit in an internet room and in 20 minutes know about the status of my request.” This will avoid the displacement to the point of attention, which usually involves getting up early and  waiting for several hours.

This new form of access to information is added to the existing ones: the telephone helpline, text messages, and email.

As of this date, there are more than 8 million people included in the Single Victim Registry who receive personalized attention in 29 Regional Victim Assistance Centers (CRAV) and 174 service points throughout the country.

Magdalena

In an event held at the facilities of Santa Marta Regional Center, ‘Unity Online’ was presented. The director of Unit in Magdalena, Carlos Ortiz Ruíz, who came to the event, explaining the functions and advantages of this virtual and online assistance strategy, helping people who were present to create their user so that from the comfort of their home they can perform all the procedures and communicate with the officials of the Unit whenever they wish, in a simple way.

Santander

In Santander, the presentation was made to the victim population in the seven points of attention of Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Piedecuesta, Girón, Barbosa, Málaga and San Gil, a service that will prevent people from remote territories from traveling to provincial capitals the consultations of their repair process. The citizen service channels that already existed continue to provide a good service. Magdalena Medio

From early hours in the ten points of attention assigned to the Territorial Directorate of Unit for Victims in Magdalena Medio, the new strategy called “The Online Unit” was socialized, which seeks to facilitate the procedures and consultations to the survivors of armed conflict in the country. The ten points in which the “Online Unit” strategy was socialized and new services were Arenal, Morales, Río Viejo, Santa Rosa del Sur, Simiti, San Pablo (in Bolívar), Cimitarra, Puerto Wilches and Barrancabermeja (in Santander) ) and Puerto Berrio (in Antioquia).

Urabá

The launch was supported by professionals responsible for explaining the steps to access the services on the platform.

It’s something magnificent that Unity does, especially for those of us who work and we do not have time to come here and line up, “she said.

Coffee Zone

The victims of armed conflict that live in the Coffee Zone met  this morning with balloons, streamers and a large group of officials from the Victims’ Unit who with applauses, songs and even troubadours were waiting for them to inform them that as of today on the website of the Victims Unit (www.unidadvictimas.gov.co), Unit Online was placed in service. “This is really a very important virtual channel for the victim population that regularly they must travel long distances to clear doubts about the Unified Registry and humanitarian aid, we hope they know how to make good use of it and we recommend that they do not give the password to anyone in order to keep the data safe, thus giving it an appropriate use to said tool, “he said.
