For the first time, in the municipality of Puerto Caicedo, Putumayo, a day of attention was held in the development of the strategy to break the barriers of access of victims of armed conflict to the information of programs and services managed by the Victims Unit.
On the day, scheduled at Villa del Río Coliseum, 150 calls were answered to request the shift. Among them was Rosa Helena Potosí, a survivor who resides in Caicedo, who commented that thanks to the new system she did not have to get up early to ask for a file. The user indicated that she agrees with the information provided on humanitarian aid and compensation in her particular case.
During this first day, the Unit had the logistical support of the Justice for a Sustainable Peace Program of the United States Agency for Development (USAID) and the municipal Mayor’s Office.
Those attending the event also had access to the institutional offer of other entities such as Colpensiones, Municipal Health Secretary, Family Commissioner and the Colombian Campaign Against Mines.
According to Germán Narváez, territorial director of Victims Unit in Putumayo, a new day of attention is planned to give access to the large number of people registered in the Victims’ Registry that are located in this area of department.
In turn, the official invited users of Puerto Caicedo to access the services of the Unit through the telephone dialing system on lines 3209689856 or 3128264112, from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. am and from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to receive advice at the point of care of Puerto Asís.
