Given this situation, the Unit is addressing all emergencies that are currently occurring in the national territory. “There have been more than 40 events, which have been attended in a timely manner. In Chocó there have been more events of confinement and mass displacement,” said Ramón Rodríguez.
These events are being attended through a legal framework established in Law 1448 of 2011 that includes “the Transitional Justice Committees, and the activation of contingency plans. When we activate contingency plans, we activate the process to act by the territorial entity; we know of the capacities that the territorial entities have, but we also call the subsidiarity on the part of the governors’ offices and indeed we The Unit are there to attend the possible emergencies like confinements, humanitarian emergencies, massive displacements, as a result of confrontations and combats”.
