Victims Unit promotes investment projects in Bolívar

As of April 1, mayors are allowed to submit projects for the benefit of victims of conflict. The investment points to the actions included in the return and relocation plans of El Carmen de Bolívar, María La Baja, Córdoba, Zambrano, San Juan Nepomuceno and San Jacinto.

The Victims Unit works hand in hand with the mayors of Bolívar, in the coordination of actions for the benefit of victims of armed conflict.

For this opportunity the process of socialization of investment lines is being advanced, aimed at improving the quality of life of the population, with the presentation of projects for the execution of actions embodied in the return and relocation plans.

“We have an offer of goods and services that has to do with support for physical infrastructure, endowments for health centers, educational institutions and community homes. The line of income generation points towards agricultural activities and productive projects, “explained Luz Damaris Lozano of the Directorate of Reparation.

In a joint and concerted manner and taking into account the institutional and economic capacity of the municipality, the actions will be taken forward.

“Six mayors from Montes de María area will have the opportunity to present their projects to promote the components of health, education, income generation and community strengthening”, said the territorial director for Bolívar and San Andrés de la Unidad, Miledy Galeano Paz.

“I found the investment lines to be excellent, which the Victims Unit has focused on, especially those focused on the acquisition and supply of equipment for educational institutions,” said Abraham Kamel Yaspe, mayor of San Jacinto, Bolívar.

“We have the plan of return of the municipality of San Juan, which focuses on the communities of San Agustín, Corralito, San José del Peñón and would also enter La Haya. We will work to present the projects that are needed to improve the conditions of, “said Benito Acosta, mayor of San Juan Nepomuceno.

The meeting also had the assistance of officials from the victims’ secretariat of the Bolivar Governorate, and mayors and delegates from the municipalities of Córdoba, María La Baja and El Carmen de Bolívar.

“It’s a great opportunity, it’s an important institutional offer for the municipalities. For El Carmen de Bolívar would apply for different lines, we would have to prioritize the issue of health, education and productive projects, “said Marquesa González Hernández, coordinator of the Center for Coexistence and Care for Victims of El Carmen de Bolívar.

In Bolívar the needs were identified, which were socialized to the municipalities with Plans of Returns and Relocations approved and in implementation.

The mayors will have until April 1 to present the projects aimed at Overcoming the Vulnerability Situation.
