The Victims’ Unit embarked 42 humanitarian aid for the Jiw families settled in the area known as Barranco Ceiba (Guaviare).
Humanitarian aid are food packages distributed in two packages and three boxes, plus a cleaning kit for each family that inhabits this settlement, which in total has 153 individuals that make up 42 families settled in this territory.
The aid that was sent from San José del Guaviare will be transported along the Guaviare river, with the support of International Organization for Migration (IOM).
“This community is part of a process of return and relocation, which is advanced by the entity to repair the damage and loss of ancestral territories, caused in the context of armed conflict. We hope that the group that inhabits this territory will continue to grow due to the decision of more jiw families to return, for which the entire institutionality will be attentive to provide them with the corresponding guarantees within the framework of the Victims Law and Decree Law 4633 of 2011 “, said the territorial director for Meta and Eastern Plains, Carlos Pardo Alezones.
The self-construction process is expected to continue, with the support of international cooperation agencies and local governments.
