In 2020, the Victims Unit delivered 8.488 letters of compensation in Nariño with an investment of more than 60.000 million pesos, a historical figure for the highest investment in this department for individual reparations. These deliveries were made in coordination with the various municipal mayors, which provided spaces to develop deliveries with the due biosafety protocol.
In Pasto, the Unit for Victims continued with the delivery of administrative compensation, benefiting 139 victims and making an investment of more than 1.597 million pesos, in a new day that was accompanied by the deputy director of National Individual Reparation of the Unit, the departmental government secretary, representatives of the Mayor’s Office of Pasto, the regional and provincial Attorney General’s Office, and representatives of entities such as SENA and the Land Restitution Unit, among others.
Alexandra María Borja Pinzón, deputy director of Individual Reparation, invited the victim population to update the data: “Today I am accompanying a historic day of delivery of compensation letters, I want to invite all citizens to all the people of Pasto and All the people of the department of Nariño, if they know of a young person who has a fiduciary commission constituted, let them come, contact their municipal liaisons, and update their contact information so that they can activate the constitution of their trust commission”.
According to William Pinzón, territorial director of the Unit for Victims in Nariño, “it is a pleasure to be able to tell the victims of this department that despite the fact that this year was so complicated and that the pandemic delayed many things, we were able to deliver the investment highest level of the department in individual reparation, we comply with each elderly person, people with disabilities or with catastrophic illness, traveling and arriving despite the pandemic to give them their money, which was surely a blessing and will improve the quality of life of those more than 8.400 victims who were benefited”.
“Our work continues, because we know that many more need to be repaired, but we are demonstrating our commitment with actions and we will continue working with the municipal governments, the Government of Nariño and the entities united by the victims of our department”, added the territorial director of unit.
For his part, the departmental government secretary, Francisco Cerón, highlighted the importance of working in a coordinated manner between the Municipality, the Interior and the National Government to work in a coordinated manner, as has been done, for the victims of the department.
During the letter delivery days, counseling was provided to the victims through the accompaniment program for the adequate investment of resources, which provides information on the importance of saving, quality of life and the main investment approaches, among others.
