The scheduled meeting with the audience of the Waira radio station was attended by the professionals of Territorial Putumayo Victims Unit, under the leadership of its director Germán Narváez.
A radial space that is characterized by being critical but that with the presence of delegates and messages from the representatives of the Table of Victims was becoming thoughtful and enjoyable.
Entering the air, listeners learned that 163,000 people are enrolled in the Unified Victims Registry, that is, 45.6% of the population of Putumayo. A percentage that is stable based on the 358,000 inhabitants that the Dane confirmed in its most recent survey.
According to the territorial director of Unit, 137,000 victims of the total percentage must be repaired administratively through State resources. Undoubtedly a great job to be done with this population group, but the entity seeks to articulate the processes with representatives of Departmental and Municipal Victims Bureau to continue moving forward.
Nelly Ledezma, coordinator of the Municipal Table of Victims of Mocoa, said before the microphones that the representatives of victims are attentive to this population and that they have closely followed the compensation processes that are part of integral reparation.
“A great job is being done because the large number of displaced people and other victimizing facts is great, so for the compensation measure to be reached, it is always a process. We are pleased because we are compensating in our territory and that work is seen, “said the representative.
The listeners learned that during 2019, there have already been five ceremonial acts for the delivery of letters of compensation that have been able to repair 436 victims of armed conflict, for an economic amount exceeding $ 3,500 million.
New deliveries of compensation letters are scheduled in the Amazon region, with a priority route that benefits people over 74, disabled or terminally ill, to their involvement by 10 victimizing facts such as: terrorist attack, threat, sexual offense, displacement, homicide, kidnapping, recruitment of minors, disappearance, torture or mines.
Finalizing the radio program, the coordinator of Victims Table of Mocoa, made a reflection and invited everyone to continue in the defense of the victim population and in the restitution of their rights.
“The victim population is not alone, we advocate from all spaces of participation and also in public policies. I invite my fellow coordinators to move forward, to take each day new strength to move forward, “concluded Nelly Ledezma.
