In the municipality of Guapi on the Pacific Coast of Cauca, 55 people over 74 years of age and / or disabled, victims of conflict, received administrative compensation for acts such as attacks on their integrity, disappearance, harassment, forced displacement, among others.
Danny Prado Granja, mayor of Guapi, said that “this economic recognition that is being made to the population is of great importance, since the vast majority arrived at this municipal seat in unfavorable conditions and thanks to the resources given they will be able to organize themselves in their homes or carry out some type of commercial activity, which will allow them to advance towards progress within the territory”.
Prado said he is “very grateful to the National Government for reaching this area that has been too affected by violence in previous years”.
For his part Dioselino Rodríguez Solís, victim of forced displacement, who received his letter of compensation indicated that he is “grateful because with that delivery of resources, I can make myself a house since I do not have one, and I live in a small ranch where I have fallen many times, so I deeply thank God and the Victims Unit for this support “.
For Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, territorial director of the Victims Unit in Cauca, “the objective of this Government is clear and is based on being able to reparation as many victims as possible, for this reason it is gratifying to be able to reach all communities that have been affected by years of war, with positive news and above all, advancing in the public policy of victims, achieving that integral reparation that they so badly need”.
