In Turbo’s IDEN educational institution, 256 victims of armed conflict received their compensation letter, for resources over $ 2,300 million, giving priority to people over 74 years of age, with disabilities or high-cost illnesses.
The delivery was attended by delegates from the municipality’s mayor, including Diober Blanco, mayor in charge, Walter Urango, Turbo victims’ liaison, and Elizabeth Granada Ríos, director of the Urabá Darién Victims Unit.
As a pre-delivery activity, recommendations were given by the professional of the accompaniment route to the integral route, on the adequate management of resources, guidelines that were reiterated by the director, who also warned them about the strategies against fraud.
“You are here, because you did your paperwork, and if someone charges you a fee for this compensation I invite you to report, because none of procedures and services of the unit has any cost, are resources that come to you through administrative for the events they suffered in the past and for improving their quality of life”, explained Elizabeth Granda.
For his part, Diober Blanco, mayor in charge, thanked “the Unit for the unconditional support they have had this year that we have been in the administration, to her, to her team that have always been willing to build processes in Turbo “
“This money to fix my house, and what I have left to buy some laying hens, fix my plot”, said Gladys Mena *, one of the survivors compensated.
In Turbo, more than 740 victims have been compensated, this year alone, with resources amounting to $ 5,000 million.
The day was supported by practitioners of the National Service of Learning SENA of Turbo.
