“We have been told that the day the Liberia inspection community was born, the people were happy, hard-working, humble, united, peaceful, committed and fighting”. This paragraph is part of the heading of the letter to the world that since this week rests on a mural of the educational institution of the Liberia inspection, in the municipality of Viotá, Cundinamarca.
The initiative is part of the committee to promote the Subject of Collective Reparation made up of 14 villages with more than 2.000 families affected by the violent actions of illegal groups between 2001 and 2003. Elsa Chucua, one of the promoters of the activity, said that the main objective of the letter is to restore the image of her municipality. “We want to show the people of the world that this is no longer a territory classified as a red zone, here we have a very beautiful inspection, a very beautiful municipality, where people come and have fun; that we went from being a zone of violence to a region of peace and harmony”, she said.
An action of practices of coping with collective grief, a walk and a mass for peace have been, among others, the measures with which the Liberian community advances in the exercise of recovery of the social network and empowerment of social practices, through psychosocial accompaniment of the Victims Unit through the “Interlacing” strategy.
“This has been achieved since 2014 when the entire process of collective reparation of the Liberia inspection began at the hands of the Victims Unit and we continue working to comply with our subject’s Comprehensive Collective Reparation Plan (PIRC)”, acknowledges Hernando Espiga, weaver and community leader.
These were some of the year-end actions, however, the strategy will continue in 2021, the year in which the PIRC is scheduled to close for this community.
