A virtual follow-up meeting to Early Warning 076/2018 was held for the lower Zenú indigenous council of Barrancabermeja, with the participation of the Victims Unit.
Representatives of entities such as the Magdalena Medio Police Department, the Office of the Attorney General for Follow-up to the Peace Agreement, the Ombudsman’s Office, the ICBF and the Mayor’s Office of Barrancabermeja, and the captain of the lower council of Zenú also participated in the meeting.
For Amparo Chicué Cristancho, director of the Unit for Victims in Magdalena Medio, “during the meeting the different entities announced their progress in the commitments of the inter-institutional coordination carried out on February 4”.
Likewise, during the meeting the socialization of Decree Law 4633 of 2011 and the socialization of the returns and relocations process developed by the entity was carried out.
It should be remembered that an early warning is the instrument with which the Ombudsman’s Office collects, verifies and analyzes, in a technical way, information related to situations of vulnerability and risk of the civilian population, as a consequence of the armed conflict, and warns the authorities concerned with a duty of protection to coordinate and provide timely and comprehensive care to the communities that could be affected.
