The Territorial Directorate of the Victims Unit in Caquetá, developed a training session, aimed at municipal officials and coordinators of local tables for the participation of victims, in which they socialized the missionary process that the entity develops in this department and concerns were resolved facing different topics.
The virtual event was led by the territorial director of the Unit, Yhina Paola Lombana López, who highlighted the participation of the Caquetá departmental victims’ table and the municipal authorities, and referred to these “training scenarios as an important space for victims to learn about the tools that the State has for the protection of their rights”.
The day allowed the formulation of recommendations, observations and proposals regarding the programs and plans aimed at the victims.
Another issue addressed was the procedure for granting compensation and the technical prioritization method, as well as the methodology applied in the framework of the pandemic.
Likewise, the process of defining the military situation of victims of armed conflict and with regard to human rights violations and emergency cases, humanitarian assistance and attention, classes with a differential approach, reparation and assistance for the peoples and indigenous communities and comprehensive rehabilitation and reparation measures.
Likewise, the issue of citizen service, the collective reparation program, the reparation and return processes, and the registration and information management processes were prioritized.
The victims in general expressed their gratitude to the Unit for this exercise and asked the representatives for all the commitment to guarantee good care for the victims, taking into account that many of its members are still illiterate and require support when taking minutes and own procedures.
One victim, who asked not to reveal her name, indicated that she is pleased with the Unit’s officials, since whenever she requires guidance and attention, she has received it in a friendly and efficient manner.
