In a special ceremony held in Pinzón Park, in which the monument to the victims is erected in Tunja and was attended by the director of the Central Territorial Unit for Victims, María José Dangond David, the governor of Boyacá, Ramiro Barragán, mayors and high command of the National Army, the delivery of the 79 certificates or military cards was completed.
María José Dangond explained that this is a work that began in August and in which it was possible to identify and enroll 200 beneficiaries from 70 municipalities. “It was a whole process of articulation with each Military District, in which it also had the collaboration of the mayors and that had as a final result being able to resolve the legal situation in this regard for the young people who today received their document, which is totally free, as part of the comprehensive reparation measures for them and their families”.
For his part, Colonel Agustín Marín, commander of recruitment zone 01, assured that “it is a great pride to solve the situation of young victims of conflict and that once they have their military card they will be able to apply for a job, a better academic training or finally to be able to improve their quality of life and that of their families”.
The delivery of the free digital certificate of the card, a document that certifies the military status as a second-class reservist to young people who are of legal age and who are in the Sole Registry of Victims, is a measure of satisfaction that is part of the comprehensive repair path.
In the municipality of Puerto Boyacá, the delivery of 33 more documents is planned, with which the total of the books processed for this year 2020 in the department will be fulfilled.
