A new institutional session to promote the PDETs (Development Programs with a Territorial Approach) for Macarena-Guaviare subregion, took place virtually, and was attended by the governments of Guaviare and Meta, and the 12 prioritized mayoralties of these two departments.
During the virtual session, the deputy director general of the Victims Unit, Lorena Mesa, as moderator of Pillar 8, called Reconciliation, Coexistence and Peacebuilding, stressed that the objective of the promotion tables that have been advanced, is to be able to incorporate the initiatives of this pillar, in the development plans and identify the stakeholders involved, see how the initiatives are being implemented and promote the institutional offer to generate a greater impact.
The initiatives by the Victims Unit in this pillar are focused on providing psychosocial support through “Hilando” strategy that aims at three reparation measures (satisfaction, rehabilitation and non-repetition), as well as the construction of a memory workshop, the realization of the course “Participate con legality” on human rights, conflict resolution, peace and coexistence and another on the system of truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-repetition; Victims Law; socialization of the collective repair route and of existing offers.
In this way, to those attending the PDET session, the achievements and progress obtained from January to July 2020 in terms of pillar 8 were announced, among which are the initiation of the virtual diploma “Human Rights and Peacebuilding ”Addressed to officials and social leaders of the department of Meta; Working groups between the Government of Guaviare, the Mayor’s Office of San José and IOM for the implementation of initiatives such as the strengthening of their own governments, life plans and special indigenous jurisdiction in reservations of the capital of this department.
For his part, the director of the Meta and Llanos Orientales of the Victims Unit, Carlos Pardo Alezones, recalled that in these two departments that make up Macarena-Guaviare subregion, there are 12 prioritized mayors, eight for Meta and four for Guaviare.
