In San Calixto, Teorama and Convencion, construction works related to plaque-footprints and spaces for healthy recreation were carried out that seek to improve the living conditions of the population affected by the violence.
“These projects were carried out through the Subdirectorate of Prevention and Emergency Attention of the Victims Unit in order to generate a process of change in their environments with social and community infrastructure projects that benefit the entire community, strengthening actions of coexistence and reconciliation in three municipalities that today bet on peace”, said the territorial director of the entity, Alicia María Rojas Pérez.
“From the institutions we continue working to achieve that change and development that we want in these municipalities where the armed conflict generated serious consequences and where today together and hand in hand with our victims we reach these populations to carry out road projects and construction of recreational scenarios” explained the official.
The director added that the works seek to contribute to the reduction of the population’s vulnerability to the armed conflict, acting within the framework of the principles of concurrency, subsidiarity and coordination. She highlighted the work articulated with the territorial entities to consolidate the execution of works that had an active participation of the community that contributed to their realization. “As a Victims Unit, we provide the materials and the municipal administrations the labor”, explained Rojas Pérez.
San Calixto
300 linear meters of slab-footprint were built in La Marina path. “Thanks to the Victims Unit for this important work that we are receiving, improving the quality of life for the peasant sector”, said the president of the community action board, Fernel Bayona.
For his part, the Secretary of the Government of San Calixto, Yulián Martínez, recognized the work of the Unit achieved within the framework of the comprehensive reparation plan: “We want to thank the Victims Unit for this beautiful work that has left us to the community, works that benefit the rural sector and that they manage quality of life”.
Theorama
In the villages of El Pantano and El Limón, the Unit for Victims delivered 207 meters of plaque-footprint that will improve the road connectivity of this population.
“I would like to thank the Victims Unit for that imprint plaque that I left in El Limón village, the truth is that it was very beautiful and I hope that more will continue to come because that is what we need for our village”, said Jesús Amado Rodríguez, president of the community action board.
Convención
With an investment of more than $ 200 million, in Las Mercedes, the Victims Unit delivered a park with endowment and adaptation of its facilities that will benefit the population in general, especially children and adolescents to strengthen spaces for coexistence.
The delivery of these works is part of the fulfillment by the national government of the Peace policy with Acts in the prioritized municipalities with Development Programs with a Territorial Approach (PDET).
