Workshop Building Country came to Timbío, Cauca

During the event, which was headed by President Iván Duque, the director of Victims Unit pointed out that within the framework of comprehensive reparation processes, an initiative will be supported in May in the socio-cultural line in the municipality of Caloto, where support will be provided to the theatrical initiative "Sowing Dreams", made up of 20 young people and adults, of which 60% are victims.

In the framework of Construyendo País workshop held in the municipality of Timbío department of Cauca, President Iván Duque Márquez met with community leaders and representatives of different sectors of this region, in order to discuss relevant issues that include the population victim of armed conflict.

The president accompanied by the director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, the deputy director of Social Prosperity, Ana María Palau and the territorial director of Unit in Cauca, Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, stressed that in April 3,342 will be made $ 2,032 million pesos for humanitarian assistance in Cauca, of which 1,093 will be for $ 636 million in Popayán and 68 $ 40 million in Timbío.

Similarly, regarding the issue of the last Indigenous Minga, Rodriguez reported that the item destined to the formulation of Collective Reparation Plans, was committed for a total of $ 595 million, which are part of the $ 700 billion arranged by the National Government.

Finally, in response to the requirements of spokespersons for victims in the Construyendo País Workshop, the national director of Unit responded that "from the National Government, the balance of implementation of actions aimed at attending, assisting and repairing the victims in the framework of this public policy, in order to present to the Congress the proposed extension of the law, to comply with the restoration of the rights of the victims".
