In order to implement a crisis room in the Victims Unit, the director of the entity, Ramón Rodríguez, visited on Tuesday the crisis room of the Directorate of Carabineros and Rural Security of the National Police, from where the different scenarios of public risk and rural security throughout the country.
“We got to know this crisis room of the Carabineros Directorate, which allows us to know in real time the information, triangulate the information that is received in the territories, and what we want as a Victims Unit is to have our own crisis room,” explained Rodríguez.
The National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) was another site visited by the director of the Victims Unit in order to collect experiences that allow the entity to consolidate this project for the benefit of victims and the different entities of the State.
“We are going to know other rooms that different entities have, in order to implement one of our own in the Unit that allows us to obtain and share information in real time with each of the entities that need the information. Our objective is to strengthen the exchange of information with a view to improving prevention processes, more than in matters of attention to the events that are presented in the territory”, the official stated.
For his part, the director of the Risk Management Unit, Eduardo José González Angulo, assured that, “since the beginning of the government of President Iván Duque, the instruction has been very clear, work hand in hand, complement each other, help each other and thus we have been doing it”. “Today we wanted to delve into these issues, learn how the crisis room works on risk management at the national level, so this visit is of the utmost importance,” he noted.
With this crisis room it will be possible to work in an articulated way with the different entities of the State and it will be possible to consolidate information on matters related to the prevention of future humanitarian emergencies.
