National Work Board women support Huila, Casanare and Sucre’s victims strengthening

With gastronomic, social assistance and business ideas projects, women victims from different regions progress thanks to the work promoted by the representatives of the national organization.

The female population affected by the conflict in Huila, Casanare and Sucre has benefited from gastronomic projects, technical assistance and social care promoted by Redesmujer, the foundation led by delegates from the National Work Board for Effective Victims Participation, which works to guarantee better welfare to them.

According to Derly Pastrana, project leader and delegate before the National Work Board for Effective Victims Participation, “we have done articulation and direct work agendas with national and international institutions to support victims in the territories with ideas.”

“We are moving forward in terms of projects. With the Huila networks, territorial projects have been done with 32 women, who thanks to an agreement, raised the idea of a business called La Casa del Tamal,” she recalled. In Casanare, there’s the project “La construccion de las mascaras de la verdad” (The Truth Masks Construction) for the care of women in the territories with the Unit for the Victims support.

“With Redesmujer, we got the Unit for the Victims to support us with the Yopal (Casanare) and Tolu (Sucre) mayor’s offices, so that 30 women victims could share experiences and project ideas in order to guarantee their stability as families and households heads”, highlighted Derly Pastrana.

Likewise, she pointed out this work aims to guarantee an impact, so that State and international institutions pay attention directly to conflict affected women who haven’t been able to generate opportunities, all this so there can be a dialogue and a work agenda on the transformation of their unfavorable situation.

Redesmujer is a Human Rights defenders organization that has been working since 2016. Its members are Derly Pastrana, Adriana Perez, Nini Cardozo, Carolina Olmos, Marleny Florez, Yolanda Perea and Patricia Riveros; leaders of the National Work Board for Effective Victims Participation. They also work in the territories for the forced displacement, forced disappearance, and sexual violence and homicide approaches.
