The Victims Unit with the accompaniment of the District High Council for Victims, Peace and Reconciliation, the Government Secretariat, the Secretariat of Security and Coexistence, the Ministry of Social Integration, the Ministry of Mobility, the Ministry of Health, the Police Transit and Transportation, Child and Adolescent Police and the Human Rights Police will initiate the return to their territories of 484 people who make up 98 families of Embera people settled in Bogotá.
For this return, a land displacement from Bogotá will be made to the municipalities of Pueblo Rico and Mistrató in Risaralda department, where they will be received by their families. To promote the uses and customs and taking into account the importance of security, we will have the participation of authorities of the communities, indigenous guards of the receiving guards and the guard formed in the city of Bogotá.
“One of the most important purposes of this return is to ensure the permanence of these families, and within the framework of the guarantee of minimum subsistence rights and social and economic rights from different processes, it was possible to guarantee health affiliation, the delivery of basic housing strengthening kits, cleaning kits and productive projects, “says Dora Yagarí, director of Ethnic Affairs at the Victims Unit.
Additionally there will be availability of school quotas for those who are studying. The steps will be taken care of both the Unit for Victims and by the territorial entities of the District of Bogotá and the Governorate of Risaralda and the respective mayorships. Additionally, control entities such as the Attorney General’s Office will monitor compliance with the agreements.
In order to have the logistic support in health, the activation of the Urgency and Emergency Regulatory Centers (CRUE) of the four departments through which the caravan of 20 buses will cross was guaranteed. In addition, a suitable and agreed food package is contemplated that complies with the kilocaloric characteristics and the component of uses and customs.
Within the essential equipment delivered to the communities will be delivered the supplies to ensure a safe return of families to the places of permanence and will ensure the arrival of the 120 tons of equipment delivered by them, which were received in a collection center and will be mobilized by land to the communities through different means such as trucks and horses.
After the transfer of personnel and the verification of the arrival of all families in this phase of return to their territories, the Territorial Directorate of the Coffee Region will make a visit in order to determine compliance with the commitments based on the co-responsibility of the territorial entities, the nationals and the traditional authorities of the territories.
